We've all know there are rules for scrapbooking and layout, but why following them? Dispelling some common myths can open new doors for scrapbook nirvana.

Myth: Scrapbooks are best when chronological. You can have your scrapbook any way you want!  While most scrapbooks are chronological, since we are telling a story of events that occurred, there other options as well.  Another option is to put your scrapbook together based solely on a subject matter, such as a person you love.  The whole scrapbook could be of moments of why you love that person.  The possibilities are endless.

Myth: Photos look better with a mat.  It's true, photos do look great with a mat, however it does not mean there is not room for deviation!  Make copies of your pictures and try cutting the subject matter out.  Or create a photo mosaic.  Or a photo collage.

Myth: You need to fill the whole page. You only need to put on the page what you want to!  If you prefer a minimalist look, put less on the page.  If you love thick chunky pages, go crazy!  In our experience, we have found that it is easy to overcomplicate layouts and sometimes all it takes is a step back from the table to see that the feeling of  "there's something missing" can quickly turn into "it's done!"
